Nour Benali's days

08AUG

There are these in-between seconds that no one sees — the pause after the last shot, when the room breathes and you're just yourself again. I was adjusting my cuff, thinking about nothing, when I realized the light was doing something quiet to the wall. Small things. The weight of the day shifting onto something softer. These moments don't need to be captured to be real, but somehow they become the truest part of the whole thing.

Mood: reflective

19JUL

There's something about the hour before the world wakes up — everything feels like it belongs to me. I caught my own reflection in the studio cyc and didn't recognize the quiet in my face. The stylist left the polo on the chair, and I put it on without asking, just to feel something soft against my skin. I walked, and the camera followed, and for a moment I wasn't performing — I was just here, in this light, in this silence.

Mood: Contemplative

08JUL

There's a strange stillness in the space between setups — everyone moving around you, but you're the only one standing still. I watched the light shift on the grey wall and thought about how strange it is to be looked at, to hold a shape for someone else's frame. Today the tee was soft, the jeans worn-in, and I let myself just breathe into the moment. The camera catches what you don't say.

Mood: Contemplative
