There's something about hotel stationery — it belongs to no one and everyone at once. I write in the margins where the watermark runs thin, catching the light the way I'm catching this moment: still, unhurried, mine. The coat is warm but the pen is sharper.

The pen moves before I decide what to write — always like this. Hotel stationery reminds me that every room is temporary, every moment a draft. The light through concrete windows is different here, flatter, more honest. I write to stop the restlessness, but it just changes shape.
